Osen
A while back koko gave me episodes 7 and 8 of Osen. then the drive that it was in kind of dies, but I revived it and  was happy to see all the data still there.
Odore by Micro )

episode 8: Their rice cooked using straw went on a blog and became popular. Due to the unusually high order of rice, the straw supply ran out. BUT THE FESTIVAL IS TOMORROW! and no straw?! but how will they cook the 600 riceballs to feed all the people??! Osen is at a loss. She's sent Kenta out with the neighbour on the neighbour's truck to get straw in Niigita, but its already near 6pm and they've called to say the truck broke down! Osen runs outside, the soundtrack is a tinkling simplistic piano, hopeless desperation seeping into the scene. Sei, the head chef, runs out after her.

Osen: Sei-san, is the roof made of straw?
Sei: yes..its a thatched roof..
Osen: ..can we use this instead?
Sei: ...Osen-san..its not a good idea to burn the roof.

Man, I love this kind of humor XD Osen is younger than almost everyone (I suppose she, Tome and Yocchan are about the same age) and she really looks up to Sei, the father figure. and the chemistry between the characters is awesome. like they're a family. Episode 8 is especially touching. Osen was so determined to hold on to their identity, even if its something as trivial as switching to using wood instead of straw. It like all those whacked out manga adaptations but with a straight face lol. definitely hunting down the other eps and downloading this!

In my youth I played two computer games. I don't really remember playing any other games, and if I had, prooobably not to the extent of these two.

Doom and Putt Putt Saves The Zoo.

My parents probably bought me that putt putt game, but I have NO IDEA where doom came from. the first one, with the pixelated graphics and the crazy maze. and I've loved shooters ever since. It was probably The Bro's first game too. I remember playing with him. and look at him now, blasting like a pro. sho pwoud.

Every time abah wants to say good luck to me, ever since he heard it (over and over lol) through the computer speakers when I was around 5 to this very day (like, five minutes ago, for my finals) he says "Good Luck, Putt Putt!" ^__^

PuttPutt is a purple convertible and has a pet dog. probably a very close personification of myself haha ma chides him for it, saying I've grown, but I don't mind. Its like, y'know, our thing.

So to everyone on the flist, off the flist, my boys on the pitch and my boys on stage facing finals, court battles, vital matches, life, PuttPutt says "Good Luck!"

Who's going with me? its this Saturday, 10th October 6-10pm so all of y'all in KL come on over. High probability I'll be going alone but if hyung can't make it I'll just rope in the crazies.

There's going to be a Lantern Walk, Street Festival, and Peace Dance (at Leonardo's Wine Loft though, so I think I'll skip that ^^)

It started in New Zealand on 2nd October and is going round the world, ending in the Andes around January 2010.

For peace and nonviolence! As Taring says, violence should be kept for the bedroom.

More info about the march here at World March Official Site

was walking back, saw berlian at the achik's with a guy from her club. lunch! she suggests. okay!

the moment we turned our backs to the guy and he goes on his way...berlian goes "i fought with him again last night! (@their agm)"
idek. they're like some old married couple. that and every bicker is probably a "fight" to berlian if its outside her circle.

and I saw amoi walking up to econs. and I waved frantic and delirious. and he waved back! he sho cute.

OT: peach gelatissimo at midvalley? HEAVENLY. i had it with berlian when we stopped by midvalley because unnie and yunni wanted to buy stuff for the agm and it wasn't berlian's "job" so we went elsewhere. wait. this is supposed to be another post. well yeah. I told her it melts in your mouth and she goes "its ICE CREAM" and I made her try it and she squealed too. it melts in your mouth and goes "~peeeeeeaaach~!" ahahahaha

anyway

so she told me about this cute guy she saw right after her test at the copy place.
and she wanted to hang around and look at him some more.
but she didn't have anything to copy so she copied whatever it was in her hand.
which turned out to be her test question AHAHAHAHAHA

thing is.
I might've done the same. only, I'd be awesomER and have his name by the time I'm done.

Quickie before bed

Fraidy Cat is (was) about this chubby spoiled kitty who gets ripped out of his comfort zone straight into a Hitchcock thriller.
I didn't even know this movie existed but shame its been scrapped. because the suits at Disney can't be bothered by a great piece of work, and after all the months on the project, have it tossed just like that. the

too late to ask what happened to honest animating. and I'm not talking about the animators. They just don't have talented marketing people. The ones at SME can sell a fangirl ANYTHING. heck, I bought three copies of mirotic. I'm sure if they target the merch properly, they'll sell something, instead of trying to do this free for all sell to everyone thing, or worse, targeting the CHILDREN.  as if that was even the point but thats how things work. and if they think the kids won't get it then its high time to start educating them before they ALL turn out lame -_-

Quick one before bed. Its amazing. Pretty, if nothing else.

The Cat Piano by Eddie White
Narration: Nick Cave
Directed by Eddie White and Ari Gibson

(Every time I see a person named "Ari", I remember my old fic I wrote way back. It had a dog -Shinoda's, if I'm not mistaken- named Ari. and a guy named Ari commented going "Hey that's my name!" lol. Now that, in turn, reminds me how Yoochun's Harang shares the same name as some other famous dude's kid XD)

the actual cat piano had me wincing, but its a gorgeous piece.

my relationship with theUsed is an odd one. I don't fangirl them. I don't squee or spazz over them frequently (I DO spazz over Jepha a bit, but the man is adorable, how could I not. oh and a bit over Quinn too. The most eloquent drunk I've ever seen)

but I bought every album, since day one, and the berth dvd (and even that sort of only because Alex Pardee did the artwork for it.)

I only learned they're names when Love and Death came out. before that they were Mad Vocals, Crazy Wicked Bass, Rad Guitar and Blazing Drums. it was after the video for All That I've Got that I knew who they were proper. yet I own every release LOL.

and they strike me each time and I probably love them to pieces. maybe. Bert's crazy. So I just might.

Going to go get the album. as usual. hahaha.

I confused the dates. I knew 1st Sept was a big deal but I forgot why, so I assumed it was a test, since my family test is on the 1st.

of OCTOBER

but I didn't know that. so I stayed up studying. trying to anyway. Its not like I didn't check the date in my notebook. I did. and it just didn't register to me that it wasn't October yet.
only when I checked my email, and their announcement was in, that I remembered.

mama: how's the money?
me: the money's got H1N1. Its under quarantine.
mama: oh really?
me: nah, I'm good
mama: I can put some in if you want..
me: I know! you give me this month's allowance so I can buy the phone!
mama: why don't you buy it here? your father can pay for you.
me: but its 800.
mama: he'll negotiate with you la..
me: the only negotiation thats going to happen is "humph! tak payah! buat apa?!"
mama: thennn...why don't YOU negotiate with HIM instead? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
me: -_-

that aside...I'm quite confident abah will buy it for me muahahahahaha~ no big. if he doesn't, I'll just get it on my own.
budak besar boleh buat suka hati yay! HAHAHA

Required trait to be family: Funny. XD

yunni: oh.my.god hantar video message! (ring) they even CALL US, okay?! "korang kat mana aku boring sorang sorang!" (one missed call)

On my way to my one and only class, already 5mins late, gut made me stop by the office.

me: Can I check if my parcel is here?

lady: I...don't think so, why don't you check the book, maybe I missed your name. (I did this yesterday. desperate much.)

me: *checks list* ah, its not here *sad* does the mail come in here straight away or does it go through the main office..?

lady: it goes through the main office, they sort it, then we get it.

me: aish..I'll have to go over there then? *crestfallen*

lady: yeah. oh do you have class now? can you help me?

me: ...nno. I just got back (lie) yeah sure. (this may seem weird but no, I'm brc after all. she kinda knows my face.)

lady: its just me in here, so I can't leave to put up the names of the people who got their parcels, could you do it on your way down? you didn't get yours and here I am asking you to do this..

me: ah, no, its fine. *looks at list of registered mail* AH! WAIT! HERE! *points at name*

lady: there you are! why wasn't it in the book? hold on *goes through the mail* so its a parcel?

me: yes! yes a parcelllllisitthere?? is it?

lady: here you go.

me: *SQUEE*

and there you have it. being nice pays. if I didn't say I'd help her, I'd probably not get it till tomorrow. I'd have gone to the main post office and made a ruckus and have it be in the hostel office all along.

and I totally went to class, okay. just detoured to tear it open and play with it on the way. and was 20 minutes late because I couldn't walk proper and just looking at it was making me laugh.

2: SEASIDE (BOOM BOOM) was released JUST as I came back from class. yunni texted me and yes. I think it is Yoochun saying ARRRRROHA~ and telling us to "move that hot butt". yeah, we all know who you're talking bout chunface.

3: just got word that land tutorial is cancelled. wicked. what else is coming? *waits*

I can't say I feel anything in particular. Been frustrated this entire week, so it's like, the emotions department is on autopilot.

Carra called it. Broke it down into 'yes' or 'no'.
No, then.

the Xabi-TVXQ pattern better end right here. but we all know its more likely not to. Except for 형's birthday, July 2009 is probably the worst month of my life ever. (with the first week of August substituting for the 1st week of July, because the 1st week of July had the nerve to be KIND TO ME.) Can't a girl catch a break?! I think this is why I've been feeling like I'm about to be sick. I've always menifested my stress in physical terms.

The news piece on Xabi was short too, as if the writer couldn't bear to say anything other than the bare minimum.

Walk on, and always keep the faith.

did everybody suddenly realize its Friday and just HAD to cram all of everything before the week is out? Is there MORE suckage planned for next week? SERIOUSLY.

refreshing sites, trying to get updates. rumors left and right, but its confirmed: JaeSuChun are in a tussle over their current contract. SM just gave word that they want to keep all five and sound like they're willing to bend to the boys this time. Looks like they're going to sign an 'improved' contract with SME or something.

I don't care what happens to SME. in fact, I'd approve of leaving. As long as they leave together.

tired.

EDIT:

SME not being idiots for once. they want to keep the boys. and someone keep the 12 year olds off the boards. sheesh.

Something is nagging at me that it may be more than the exclusivity clause issue but so far, no word on anything else.

Hope to the end, eh? yeah.

EDIT 2:

what did I say? strategy. no way they're going to drop the brotherhood because of something like this. and I can't believe they pushed Junsu around. NO ONE pushes him around. (Only Changmin can do that.) I think he got scolded a lot since debut for being strong like that. He was the only one among them to speak about the company on air (and then mysteriously go missing for the second half of the show)

I'm rooting for them. and I think SHINee needs to start saving up for their battle once Taemin is legal.

Lets hope their case helps all the other groups under slave contract. And that they can get out of SME clean and quick.

Looks like they're pulling a Shinhwa, folks. This is a Good Thing.

Hope to the end!

The bbc made a 13 year old boy trade his Ipod for a 1st generation walkman for a week

"It took me three days to figure out that there was another side to the tape."

...

FULL ARTICLE

I understand if it was around 50 years ago, but I was still using cassettes in my early teens. heck, I just switched to buying cds only recently CDs were for special bands that I really really like. I only bought HIM and LP cds when I was 13. CDs are expensive, compared to tapes which cost HALF and delivered the same. I had two walkmans. One was Abah's old panasonic, and one I saved up for. A Sony silver and blue thing and it had a partcularly sensitive radio dial. I used it til it's dying day (it somehow wouldn't read the tape unless strong pressure is applied. I'd keep one foot on it to keep the music going) sometime in 2005.

Are ALL kids this ignorant? Don't give me the 'generation gap' crap. I know how to use a typewriter. And I'd use the old manual roll camera if there was a place to fix it. I played games on a console that used cartridges. and I'm only 20! see, the way I look at it is the reason why younger kids are more obnoxious these days is because they've never had to untangle tape, or clean the deck, or wait more than 30 seconds for a page to load. It builds character, y'know. respect for design and creativity. (and sometimes ninja cunningness while trying to be online at night with a dialup.)

Sure, I'm all for better faster stronger smaller, but these kids..its not ancient history, okay? Its a cassette walkman. not some amazing fossil.

lol come to think of it I'm using the earphones to my old walkman right now because I don't have any head/ear phones. more than five years and they still work great. and how long did the new earphones I got together with my handsfree set last? two, three months? And I've just realized it's got a homey acoustic sound to it. really brings out the middle and bass.

point of post: Kids today really don't appreciate, or even realize what they have until you throw something like this at them. *sigh*

Got my MyTVXQ membership stuff today. Its so pretty! And no tacky shit either! I don't really like the type of merch with the member's faces on em. So incredibly glad that they didn't do that.

There was a notebook, a lanyard+cardholder+"membership card", and a plastic folder thing. All red and black. The lanyard has MY TVXQ- TVXQ FANCLUB IN MALAYSIA all over it. And the logo is pretty neat. I'd have that on my shirt any day.

Too bad MyT was denied official status (recognized but unofficial? sort of? idk.)

The merch isn't expensive stuff, but its alright quality and real pretty. And useful! Now I will display my matric card with pride AHAHAHAHA
Plus the notebook pages are blank. Sweet.

That was a very pleasent surprise. I'mma go be active in the forums now k bai!

This is really funny (despite what the kid says lol).
This kid's little brother somehow split his lip and he's trying to tell his dad that the baby has blood on his face. oh, I'm sorry, bloooduh.
Then he goes all Hulk on his dad for laughing because Blood is Not Funny.

I STILL. don't know how to cook the udon. :/
some of the ingredients are absolutely impossible to get here. Idk, maybe Jusco has like, dashi stocks or whatever. but we no has jusco here. and getting nad-min to get it would be mahal..and though reis is coming back for raya, idk. will it be bad of me to ask him to get me some? coz i don't think putting budu is is going to turn out so great...

so that sort of rules out traditional-style.

then i was thinking oh! udon jajangmyeon? since korean food and malaysian food basically use the same stuff..but we don't have black beans for me to make paste with. I'll have to go to the store. but i want to make it TODAY and there is no time to go to the store. NO TIME~!

so.

I've decided to gun it. I'm thinking of replicating Midori's unagi udon (without the unagi. the frozen unagi was abslutely hideous and terrible and all kinds of NOT COOL.) so...basic oyster sauce gravy? oyster sauce, shoyu (-koto HAHAHA), garlic, olive oil, shitake shrooms..maybe some lada kering? lets make it P-E-D-A-S-y~ um..some veggies? carrots..maybe..chop up some lettuce..have to see if there's some spare chickin or meat..?

i'll have to work that out. HMM.

but now. TIME TO MAKE CARAMEL~!
